Things to Do

Yarn & Fiber Art

The Town of Avon’s Main Street Mall has been transformed with colorful, creative Yarn and Fiber Installations that celebrate public art and highlight the talent of local artists. These temporary, fiber-based displays bring new life and personality to Avon’s bronze sculptures and trees, wrapping them in vibrant textures made from yarn, textiles, recycled materials, and other imaginative mediums.

Installed across nine locations throughout the pedestrian corridor, each piece offers a unique interpretation of fiber art, inviting locals and visitors to explore. From bold, playful designs to intricate, handcrafted details, the installations create a dynamic outdoor gallery that enhances the walkable downtown environment.

Each installation is thoughtfully designed to withstand the elements while maintaining a commitment to sustainability. Many artists incorporate environmentally friendly or recycled materials into their work, reinforcing Avon’s dedication to creative expression with a purpose.

The Yarn & Fiber Installations are available for viewing throughout the summer season and coincide with Avon’s lineup of events, and the Art Guild at Avon’s First Fridays and Art Walks, making downtown a lively hub of art, culture, and connection.
