Avon By Bike
Whether you’re bringing your bikes, renting from one of our many local retail shops, or borrowing a SHIFT bike, Avon is a bike-friendly community with a wide network of paved paths to explore in the town core.
Explore By Bike
As a bike-friendly community, we encourage locals and visitors to take advantage of a network of multi-use paths and sidewalks, including the pedestrian walkways of the Main Street Mall and Lettuce Shed Lane. Paved recreational paths around Nottingham Park, along the Eagle River, and throughout Town are bike-friendly, designated as slow zones, and allow Class 1 and 2 e-bikes. These paths provide convenient and easy access to Avon and the surrounding area’s destinations and amenities. The Eagle Valley Trail winds parallel to the beautiful Eagle River in Avon, offering a scenic connection to Edwards and Eagle-Vail.
SHIFT Bikes
The Town of Avon, in conjunction with Vail and the Eagle-Vail Metro District, offers an e-bike share program. Shift Bike is designed to get local employees, residents and guests out of their cars and onto an electric bike for short trips and commutes.
The Shift Bike system includes a fleet of 90 e-bikes and 30+ hub stations through the three communities, including 6 locations in Avon:
o Avon Station
o Avon Recreation Center
o Nottingham Park
